List All 1 PricesNikon F6 is a 35 mm camera which is film based and single lens .
Your Nikon F6 will accommodate nearly all of the Nikon f mount lenses that have full metering capabilities other than those which are nonaperture indexing lenses.
The F6 has an electronic focal plane shutter made of an aluminum alloy and featuring Kevlar shutterblades.
It is comprised of a die cast chassis, with the rear cover and film covers made of an aluminum ally, while some of the parts are made of magnesium alloys. Specifically engineered and built for lowering noise and vibration it also has an S feature (silent) that permits it to give a more quiet frame advance.
Nikon users asked for and received an improvement in the F series ergonomics including tilted wheels for the controls, larger buttons and improvements in the shutter button.
Offering a vertical grip that detaches and a battery pack that is external this time, it also provides some of the same features that the F5 had, including the eleven zone auto focusing (with the nine cross sensoring)
It also boasts the ability to write your lens and exposure data to your memory card so that you can keep it for future use. A manual rewind for the film, a viewfinder that covers 100 percent of your photo round out the Nikon F6 package.

Call it a move up for those who never had the privilege of owning a premium camera or a huge upgrade for photographers who now feel they’ve taken the F5 to its limits, the F6 is certainly a milestone for both the company and the passion of photography. This camera delivers good selection of choices, excellent picture quality. I think most if not all of the serious and professional photografers would agree with me. I had used Nikon cameras since 1964, own many models, and I'm still entusiastic about it's evolving qualities. Read more
...07 at B&H Photo, the Nikkor 35f2 AF is about $300 and the Leica 35mm Summicon f2 is about $2300. And the new 35 f2.5 will be about $1700. In 1971 The Nikon F and the Leica M4 also had similar prices - around $450 with a 50mm 1.4 lens if I recall. Now the Nikon F6 is about $2200 with the 50 F1.4 and a Leica MP with 50mm 1.4 costs about $6400. This is an interesting comparison, because the Leica remained virtually the same but the Nikon F6 is radically different from the Nikon F and has many more features. So Nikon k...

Ilkka, A Nikon F6 is the same size as a Canon 5D. I don't care how the nerds rearrange the guts...just provide the machine! By the way, no offense to my fellow nerds.

...vered slides I'm using dslr much less than ever. Of course digital solves some problems, so I'm still using it, but none will be ever able to give me the same emotion I have while looking at a velvia underexposed of half stop against a blue sky. Once the Nikon F6 chief engineer talked about the "value of unique pictures" that often haunts who's looking for a "different" and more challenging snapshots. Dslrs in some way lower this singular strive. Working with film rolls, conversely, puts you in a different state of...

I began shooting digital fairly late (2001), since I wasn't thrilled with the images vs. film. In fact, I'm about to order a Nikon F6 so I'll have the latest (and probably last) F to go with my F2 and F3. However, if you haven't looked at the images coming out of a DSLR lately, you might rethink film vs. digital. I've had my Nikon D300 for about a week now, and the color and sharpness le...
