...300mm was also very long in these days, now it isn't anymore. ISO 100 was the standard and I never bought another film than ISO 100. That's progress. Also, 28mm was certainly not super wide, or what would you call my Sigma 18mm lens that I bought with a Nikon F90x? That's true enough and it's what I still do quite often. ...lthough "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" I believe not completely, I believe fine designs have some kind of a universal aspect. I like Epson R-D1 the most, then Contax G2, Yashica Electro 35, Mamiya 6, Leica M6, and for a cult taste in analogue AF: Nikon F90X (better looking than F100), for P&S digital Leica D-Lux 3 black. William, Firstly, thank you for the link to your photos. They are very good - they would go well in a book I recon. OK, your comment on the Konica. I may have the answer in the fact that it is not tolerant of underexposure. When used in the Nikon F90 you have, the camera has a very accurate exposure meter, where as the manual Canon rangefinder only has a simple metering system that is easily misled by bright areas in the photo. I believe Nikon SB-26 can sync up to 1/8000 if using with nikon F90x/F100/F5, maybe 1/8000 with its high speed sync custom function. Correct me if I am wrong.
