Denon DCD-500AE

The DCD-500AE is an entry level CD player from Denon released in 2006. It is available in Premium Silver or Black colors and comes with a stylish aluminum front panel. It measures 17 x 4.2 x 10.9 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 8.8 pounds. It comes bundled with Denon’s RC-1028 remote control. The CD player system features an analog audio as well as optical digital out ports. A 3.5 mm jack for headphones is also available.

The Denon DCD-500AE has a tray loading compact disc drive that can read regular CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs as well as DVD Audio discs. The system’s construction, particularly the CD drive mechanism, has been specifically designed to be balanced and minimize the effects of its vibration on the sound quality. The DCD-500AE’s drive mechanism is mounted right at the center of the body while its transformer is placed away from the audio circuit to lessen interference.

The DCD-500AE features a high accuracy 192 kHz / 24 bit audio D/A converter. The audio D/A converter takes out more of the audio distortion inherent in high frequencies. According to Denon, the D/A converter in the DCD-500AE is more efficient than other CD players in the same entry level class; giving buyers a cleaner and more detailed sound.

Playback modes on the Denon DCD-500AE include program play of up to 25 tracks, random play and A-B repeat. The system also features extensive searching features.
