I 've read a lot of reviews before purchasing this camcorder. Excellent video in sun light, even overall it 's a little bit yellowish to my taste. Amazon is best price, and they refund me the difference when the price went lower in within 30 days after purchase. Low light is OK. and I found it better than the JVC HD camcorder that my brother has. Extremely low light is not acceptable. I do not have time to test the 5.1 audio on my NAD receiver. It records audio natively to 5.1, which is useful if you're creating DVDs with AC3 5.1 sound. A limitation of the technology (the FAT32 file format) means that your files are broken up into 4GB chunks for long recording sessions. Every time this happens you loose about 10 frames effectively. You can work around it, but you have to remember to turn off the recording and turn it back on every 30 to 40 minutes which is tedious. Read more
