Fujifilm FinePix S1000fd boasts of a 10.0-megapixel CCD sensor and promises high resolutions pictures. It comes with a maximum sensitivity of ISO3200 which helps to capture images even if the subject is moving at very high speeds. Its micro thumbnail view can used to select specific pictures for viewing or printing purposes.
Fujifilm FinePix S1000fd provides tailored shooting modes which can used to shoot images easily. Its Auto mode is the easiest mode used for taking ordinary pictures. This camera also offers a Natural Light mode which helps to retain the natural ambiance even in low-light conditions. The Panorama mode helps to capture and combines a max of 3 consecutive shots, which are later saved to the memory card as a panoramic picture. The FujiFilm FinePix S1000fd also provides Face detection (with red-eye removal), High speed shooting, Best framing, Post shot assist windows, Frame No. memory and Histograms Detailed settings.
Fujifilm FinePix S1000fd allows users to record movies along with sound however Zoom function cannot be used during movie recording.Fujifilm FinePix S1000fd is equipped with a high speed USB 2.0 port and cable. The Picture Stabilization feature is used for selecting fast shutter speed which helps to prevent blurry images. This camera is compatible with both xD Picture Card and SD/SDHC memory cards. It comes with an internal memory of (Approx. 24MB). The shutter speeds can be 1/4 sec. to 1/2000 sec. in Auto mode and 8 sec. to 1/2000 sec. in all other modes. FinePix S1000fd’s 12x optical zoom lens and its amazing focal range of 33-396mm helps to shoot detailed images with ease.

This camera is exactly what I was looking for - a digital camera with good resolution (10mp), strong zoom capability and an eye hole viewer in addition to the LED screen. The controls and menus are very similar to an older Fuji Finepix that I also liked which helps. Read more

Broke after 10 minutes!

I barely had taken ten pictures before the camera froze. Just like a computer- it was stuck on one screen and wouldn't even turn off. I was using the ScanDisk card as recommended, and hadn't even changed any of the settings. I am SO disappointed in this camera and will be taking it back tomorrow for the Canon that I should have bought in the first place. Read more

This has all the advantages and spec of a top range digital SLR but of a size which fits in the palm of your hand! Numerous photo modes and manual mode. Excellent zoom lens. I have a Fuji 6500fd which is great, but for it's size, the s1000fd is awsome. Also A1 sevice from Ebuyr - ordered at 1930hrs on a Friday and arrive at 0830hrs on Saturday. Read more
