The DMP-BD50 player, which comes in a black color, measures approximately 16.9 x 2.3 x 12.6 inches (W x H x D) and has a weight of 7.3 pounds. The standard package ships with an infrared remote control. The player also features Panasonic’s VIERA Link technology, allowing the DMP-BD50 and other VIERA Link-equipped components to be controlled via a single remote control.
It has a tray loading disc drive that can read the following media types: BD-ROM, BD-RE DVD, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD-ROM, CD, CD-RW and CD-R. The DMP-BD50 also supports MP3, JPEG, AVCHD and DivX digital media standards. It also features a SDHC memory card slot which can read AVCHD videos as well as high definition photos.
The Panasonic DMP-BD50 outputs video at full HD 1080p resolution and also features upscaling. Video connectivity option include 1 HDMI output (compliant with HDMI 1.3 specifications) as well as component video, composite video, S-Video outputs.
The player has built-in DTS-HD, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD high-definition audio decoders. The DMP-BD50 can also output high resolution audio in bit stream format if the user chooses to use a separate AV receiver’s decoders. The player offers 1 audio linout (RCA phono x 2) and 2 SPDIF outputs (RCA phono and TOSLINK).
Other connectors include an Ethernet port to connect the DMP-BD50 to the network.

Got this model at a knock down price. Have tried to test out most of the functions, I am 69 (and still have 20-20 vision) but am trying to get my head round some of the things it can do. The picture is brill on my T.V you really feel you are in there. It up rates the DVDs to better quality pictures and the SD slot gives you pictures that have to be seen to be believed.
