"I have this connected to a 50 inch samsung dlp. I love how when you put a dvd in the dvd and tv automatically link up and it starts to play the dvd without changing anything. I also like how there isn't a lot of display on the dvd player so that when you are watching a movie you don't see the bright lights under the tv." Read more

I've owned this player for about 4 months. I am using it with a Samsung 1080p DLP TV. This player does a very good job of upscaling dvd's. When the DVD is encoded well (good bitrate, anamorphic 16:9), the results are outstanding. Upscaling an older DVD with a poor transfer will show the limitations of the DVD (blocky, poor shadow detail). When you watch animated movies (Like Pixar's Cars) the upscaling results are *very* impressive. Read more

Great DVD player, amazing clarity. Circuit City has the best price around for the Samsung LCD TVs but Sams Club currently saves you about $20 on this great player. Except for the somewhat slow eject disc this player is great and a sleek unit. Read more

You can play AVI on it, and it brings up a simple menu to select what AVI file you'd like to play. It upscales nicely, and offers your choice of output methods. A couple things you should be aware of before buying though. I was bummed that upscaling only works through HDMI when there's no technical reason that it shouldn't work with component as well. Also HDMI won't pass through the audio from my TV to my sound system, because HDMI doesn't allow it, and not for a tec... Read more
