The BDP-S350 is Sony’s follow-up to the popular BDP-S300. One of the most inexpensive standalone players on the market, the BDP-S350 includes some great new features that the BDP-S300 design didn’t have. Sony overhauled its form factor, with a case that’s nearly half the size of the company’s earlier players. The player also employs a sleek new interface that uses Sony’s popular Xross Media Bar. It’s a lean, mean, disc-spinning machine. Sony has crammed all the electronics into a small chassis that’s been embossed and strengthened in key areas to reduce the effects of unwanted vibrations. I purchased this unit in October for a good price at the time $265.00. I have a Philips 42" LCD 1080i TV, Philips Soundbar and connected all via HDMI and digital audio. Sound is amazing, upconverts all very well and was a breeze to setup. I chose the CD method to update the firmware. Ordered online and it was delivered in less than a week. Load times a bit slower but well worth the wait. Don't hesitate to get this one. Read more
