This Blu-Ray disc player already has a parental channel lock. Its form factor is a tabletop and its DVD media load type is a tray. It too has the surround sound for its audio output. It has built in decoders for Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS decoder, DTS-HD decoder and the Dolby Digital.

It has output for both Full HD 1080/60p and 24p True Cinema Video. Aside from that, it has a sliding front door that is motorized. In addition, the said unit has a DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD bitstream. It also has that Bravia Theater Sync and is capable of DVD upscaling to 1080p through HDMI.

  1. Makes even older DVD's sound better

    This unit plays the home made Blu Ray. Many models will not play home computer generated AVCHD. This one works great. Even older DVDs have better sound and graphic improvement. Yes the dollar amount is much but, you get what you pay for. Read more

    Just purchased the Sony and installed it last Tuesday. Very easy installation utilizing a single HDMI cable between the Sony and the AV Receiver then on to the LCD HDTV via HDMI. The Sony takes 45 seconds to fully power up and almost 30 seconds to load a Blu Ray DVD. Not bad considering the amount of information on Blu Ray DVD’s. The only issue I’m having right now is figuring out why I’m not getting any audio when playing a music CD. I’m sure the answer is somewhere ... Read more

    I purchased this player along with a KDL-46XBR Sony tv. The combination is quite wonderful. My initial review was shortly after purchase, and now I've had the unit about four months. I'm still very pleased with the unit's performance. I have upgraded firmware once in that time period and found the instructions from Sony were reasonably complete and the process was pretty painless.     ...aker must be in ceiling. I know the ceiling mounts are not optimal, but we do not want any speaker stands.
