SFA is a lot like the movie Hannibal. Hannibal had a great cast, strong sound track, and an excellent director (Ridley Scott) who made sure the film looked gorgeous. Unfortunately, the script was lousy and the film, while entertaining, was a disappointment. SFA certainly has a lot of polish to it. It looks, sounds, and controls great. Unfortunately, like Hannibal, it simply isn't satisfying. In the end, it's kind of fitting that Starfox Adventures turned out how it did.... Read more
RARE, whom after Goldeneye had been developing games ranging from average to decent, only possibly came close to their former glory once with Perfect Dark, which was released realistically too late in the N64's lifetime and required a RAM expansion for the full effect. A fun Sci-fantasy story combined with great audio and visual work and good characters all combine to make a fun, well paced adventure game. Star Fox Adventures is a very good game that falls just short of being great thanks to simple puzzles and weak enemy AI. The varied game play is nice and keeps Star Fox Adventures from falling into the trap of repetitiveness that some adventure games have fallen victim to. All in all, there's more good than bad here. Any GameCube... Read more
