Many Star Fox fans felt cheated when the series made a drastic departure with Adventures , but Star Fox: Assault brings the franchise back to its glorious roots. So even though I think this game could have been a lot better it is still a great release and I really think that everyone should give it a try. The characters are really fun and the story can be interesting at times. The game does offer some challenge for everyone and the multiplayer is a blast. Star Fox Assault is part of a category that's getting a bit too many of its kind these days: the "Games with a lot of potential that doesn't get used". Where the airplane missions and multiplayer mode are fun, the land missions with the Landmaster in particular are quite bad. Also the graphics and sound aren't anything special. Starfox: Assault is the perfect rental. It's not long or outstanding enough to warrant a $50 purchase (unless you're a die hard Starfox fan), but it's a decent enough way to spend $7 and kill a weekend. The graphics range from pretty good to bland and somewhat dated. The controls work well in space combat, but are a quite clunky when you are on foot or driving the landmaster tank.
