Bose ACOUSTIMASS 10

The Bose ACOUSTIMASS 10 is a home entertainment speaker system composed of Bose’s “Acoustimass module”, a passive center channel speaker and four passive satellite speakers featuring an innovative design. This surround sound system is available in either black or silver and comes with 5 speaker cables (3 measuring 20 feet each and 2 measuring 50 feet each) and a 20 foot audio cable.

The ACOUSTIMASS 10 speaker set is designed to save space and be able to blend in to the room’s existing furniture and equipment. The subwoofer can be kept out of the way while the rest of the speakers are very compact. To make the speakers blend in even more, Bose sells an optional wireless surround link (the SL2). With the SL2, the rear speakers can be hooked up to the sound source wirelessly; eliminating the problem of hiding wires.

Acoustimass module

The Bose Acoustimass module,which is essentially an active subwoofer, features two down-firing drivers and proprietary technology that minimizes audible distortion. The module, which measures 8.1 x 16.3 x 25.3 inches (W x H x D) and weighs about 35 pounds, can be hidden away out of sight.

Center channel and satellite speakers

The system’s horizontally-oriented center channel measures 6.3 x 3.1 x 4.1 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 2.4 pounds.

The ACOUSTIMASS 10’s satellite speakers feature a unique design. The cube-shaped speakers have what Bose call a “Direct/Reflecting” array, which combine reflected and direct sounds for a better surround sound experience. This technology also enlarges the sound field; giving full-bodied sound in nearly every corner of the room. Each satellite speaker array measures 3.1 x 6.2 x 4 inches (W x H x D) and weighs approximately 2.4 pounds.
