The SRS-TP1 is a lightweight and compact portable stereo speaker set from Sony. The speakers, which weigh in at approximately 7 ounces, can be folded into a clamshell when not in use for easier portability. When folded, the Sony SRS-TP1 measures about 5.2 x 2.6 x 3.1 inches (W x H x D). When it is opened and in use, the device measures 5.2 x 0.8 x 2.8 inches (W x H x D). The SRS-TP1 is available in three color schemes: black, white and violet. The lightweight and foldable body, which has a stainless steel bottom, can also double as a convenient speaker stand.

This travel stereo speaker set has a cord measuring approximately 1 foot. The cord can be stored inside the case when the SRS-TP1 is folded to make the device easier to carry as well as to protect the wiring when traveling.

The SRS-TP1 can be connected to most portable media players as well as music-enabled mobile phones cord via the straight stereo mini plug. In addition to the stereo speakers’ easy connectivity, the Sony SRS-TP1 also features passive speaker operation. With passive operation, the device does not need batteries or AC power. The speakers can be powered by the device it is hooked up to.

The Sony SRS-TP1 utilizes 50 mm driver units for high quality audio performance and neodymium magnets for improved sound clarity. The speakers are also magnetically shielded so it can be used next to CRT monitors without causing interference.
