Those that find themselves looking for the ultimate "tweaker" motherboard would do better selecting either the ASUS Maximus Formula/Extreme or the DFI UT P35-T2R. However, what the P5E3 Deluxe lacks in tweaking options it makes up for with performance and features. Check back soon for the second edition (Part II) of our ASUS P5E3 overclocking guide, where we'll be strapping Intel's new Core2 Extreme QX9650 processor into the board and watching for magic to happen as w... The ASUS P5E3 Deluxe is certainly a Linux-friendly motherboard, but it's not the perfect solution. ASUS does deserve massive props for being Linux friendly not only with this motherboard but on their other products as well. However, the WiFi-AP @n (AzureWave 802.11n Wireless) hadn't worked out of the box on Ubuntu 7.10. The P5E3 Deluxe hadn't beat the Blitz Extreme in all of the benchmarks, but of course this is a brand new chipset and we'll likely see some optimi... Read more
The Asus P5E3 Deluxe WiFi is one of the most intriguing motherboards to hit the market in some time with a combination of three PCIe x16 slots, DDR3 memory support, great overclocking options and even an embedded Linux OS! Read more
The P5E3 Deluxe (WiFi-AP @n) is an exceptional product from ASUS and dare I say it once again, this is probably the best motherboard we have ever tested. Although the P5E3 Deluxe is very much like the P5K3 Deluxe and many of the other ASUS P35 motherboards, it does come with enough new features to make it a little more special. Sure the Express Gate, BlackHawk audio and Wireless 802.11n support might not be every ones cup of tea, but they are unique features and shoul... Read more
I've had this board for 5 months now. Only issue is with the integrated audio. It doesn't seem to like my headset/mic combo (no one can hear me, though I can hear them). Eventually I'll try a usb headset, but everything else has been perfect. I'm not an OC guru and there's a couple utilities that make it simple without getting overly detailed. Read more

Aye, my Asus P5E3 Deluxe x38 board supports CPU's at 1600MHz and memory at 1333 MHz. As for the x48, performance gains should be noticed if the CPU and RAM were both synchronized at 1600 MHz.

I changed over to the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe and was able to reach 478MHz FSB stable, which is a new high. I've maxed out the MCH and FSB voltage on this board and tried up to 1.6Vcore on the processor... I used the latest BIOS from ASUS 0504, so this board it up to date and ready for Yorkfield.

...r to what I just built but waiting on the Silverstone TJ09 case to have it fully assembled lol. Anyhow, the QX6850 CPU runs at a 1333 FSB so I would recommend going for DDR3 at the same frequency to avoid any bottlenecks in performance. I went with the Asus P5E3 Deluxe for that very reason and a single GTX, no SLI on that board though. A second raptor for raid 0 wouldn't hurt either hehe.
