The game Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 is the 3rd installment of the video game Persona console RPG series. It was developed and published for Sony Playstation 2 by Atlus Co. It was released in Japan in July 2006, then August 2007 in North America and February 2008 in Europe and Australia. In North America, the game was released with a 52-page Color Art book, outer collector’s box and a soundtrack CD that features 18 songs.

Features

Persona 3’s story moves from a day-to-day basis over the course of one year that gives it an edge from typical console role-playing games (RPG). It has the turn-based affair that allows the protagonist and its comrades to exploit the weaknesses of their enemies and be awarded for it. The only controllable element in the game is the protagonist and the enemies are controlled by AI which gives players more challenges. The game allows a Social Link system that helps build good relationships with friends and love interests. With its amazing 2D character portraits and astounding 3D graphics it gives players the excitement of a lifetime.

At 29.99, Persona 3 FES packs a lot of story and gameplay on one disc. The replay value alone makes this game worth picking up, even a second time for the early adopters. The crux of this game however, is how niche the audience is. If you are turned off by the dark nature of the game or heavy amounts of level grinding (especially in The Answer) then this game probably won’t be for you. Read more

Persona 3 was one of the best RPGs of 2007, and if you missed it the first time around, this is your chance to make amends. However, FES isn’t only about bringing in a new audience. In true Atlus style, the game also services hardcore fans with a... Read more

In conclusion, Persona 3 FES offers an oldschool look and challenge for RPG fans and curious onlookers alike with a newschool presentation and charm. At $30 for both an out of print game and an added assortment of additional content, there is little reason to avoid this fantastically valued and fun filled adventure that will have everyone playing well past the Dark Hour. Persona 3: FES is a fantastic version of an astonishing game. Although you miss out on the sumptuous bonuses of the original release, you will get substantially more content at a great price. Newcomers should pick it up to experience the entirety of Persona 3 in one fell swoop, and veterans should pick it up to revisit a favorite and earn a truly compelling ending. Read more

The disappointing new chapter notwithstanding, Persona 3: FES is a wonderfully enhanced version of an already-great RPG. The gameplay has been deepened, broadened, and lengthened, yet the game sells for a discounted price, which makes FES a bona fide steal--even if you already played last year's release. Read more

Strangely, the Persona creature card system is like a dark version of pokemon in that you collect tarot cards which have certain powers and you have to level up to gain more skills in those creature cards. It is quite fun. Read more
