See lessInsomniac have delivered a solid, albeit run-of-the-mill single player with a great online mode. While the campaign is nothing to keep you entertained after a couple of play-throughs the well put together online mode will have you playing for much longer. Resistance will fit snugly in any PS3 owner’s collection. Read more
While the online play isn’t too bad, I find the single player Co-Op mode better. While the story only has 1 character your friend may feel a little left out when the video clip comes and there is only 1 character, but he’ll get over it. Read more
Just hours after getting my hands on a launch Playstation 3 after waiting hours in line I made my way home, set it up, and popped in my first game which was of course Resistance: Jinrui Botsuraku no Hi as it’s known here in Japan. I know you’re thinking, “What, a Japanese guy likes First Person Shooters!?”, but who could pass up a launch title from the guys who made Ratchet & Clank? So let’s take a trip together as we assume the role of Army Ranger Sergeant... Read more
Some reviews have made Resistance: Fall of Man out to be one of the greatest FPS games of recent times. I personally wouldn't go that far but there's plenty here to suggest that Insomniac Games have the potential to create some amazing FPS games in the future. Resistance needed to be more interesting in the early stages, be less repetitive and have a more fleshed out story to truly be regarded as an FPS classic. However, I think Resistance is actually very good for a... Read more
The lines of hopeful PS3 fans have begun to sprout all over the country. One day before the PS3 launches, many may wonder “will this system be worth the price, or the wait?” Will the software at launch warrant a purchase, or are we looking at another dud launch like earlier Sony systems and last year’s 360 launch? While it may not be the “killer ap” that everyone at Sony is claiming it to be, Resistance: Fall of Man is easily one of the best titles seen in a... Read more
Well, I bought this game for a cheap price of £15 (: and i was very pleased with it. The sequel comes out tomorrow and im so hyped for it!! The game is really good,it feels so so quick, and the way it makes you panic and just the atmosphere of it is great. I wish that they had more cutscenes thought, of actual action, instead of just voiceovers over pictures, that does let down the story that kinda drags away from the game... The graphics are good for 2 years ago, it does... Read more
This game is kickass, but it can get boring sometimes. I would die one time, and quit for a couple hours, and play something else. other then that its good Read more
Its obvious from the start that this game was a launch title for the PS3. Its a very 'by-the-numbers' first person shooter that pulls ideas from just about every other shooter thats ever been released. All that seems to put a downer on proceedings but in actual fact, if you can get past the average graphics and the 'seen-it-all-before' story-line, this is actually a great little game. For me its main advantage is the shortness of the levels. This alone gives it a very... Read more
The game is a cross between Resident Evil and Doom. It doesn't require solving puzzles but killing anything that moves. This game was very fun playing, but you can defeat it in less than twelve hours while taking your time enjoying the scenery. Recommends this product? The title says it all. This was supposed to be the PS3's answer to Halo and Gears of War, the PS3's flagship killer app. It could have gotten close, really it could. But it didn't. This is gonna be long, I'm afraid, I need to rant. Recipe for Resistance Take Half Life 1. Add Call of Duty 3. Mix in some PS2 standard graphics. Pour in some utterly moronic AI that (for your allies) fail to give any impression of being anything other than animated polygons and (for your... Read more
