Oblivion opens in Cyrodil’s Imperial City prison, where Emperor Uriel Septim VII is trying to escape an assassination at the hands of the forces of darkness. You are in the cell where the emperor’s escape route is and you follow the Emperor out of the caverns and sewers. The Emperor falls, but not before giving you the Amulet of Kings. He trusts you to find the man who knows the location of Tamriel’s only remaining heir to the throne. Your mission starts and you have to restore the kingdom of Tamriel and give the prince his throne. Whether you succeed or fail will depend on your ability of combat. Oblivion features compelling and visceral combat, melee combat, stealth kills, spell casting. The combat is well-balanced and the controls are easy to manoeuvre. The enemies are tough but fair and the highly contrasting combat styles makes Oblivion more immersive and fun. The graphics with stunning backgrounds and well-detailed scenery, is marvellous. The audio is simply amazing. From voice acting to sound effects the Oblivion amazes with its audio. The sound effects are also sharp you can distinctively hear swords clang together and spells also have sounds. The original soundtrack perfectly compliments the game, from walking around in towns to fighting epic battles. Reviewers find the animation first rate and the game is gorgeous. A truly magnificent game of high standard.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was a long time coming to the Xbox 360 and to the PC, and when it arrived, it did so with the impact of a meteorite striking the earth. It was a much needed RPG for Microsoft's new system as well as a highly anticipated sequel. Also, its predecessor, Morrowind on the original Xbox, was a much lauded game that introduced console players to the open world of the Elder Scrolls series. Finally and for the first time in gaming history, an Elder... Read more
When Oblivion arrived on the PC and Xbox 360 last March, we gave our opinion in an in-depth review . Since not much has been changed for the PlayStation 3 version, with the exception of phenomenal graphics and the inclusion of the Knights of the Nine mod, we will forego the extensive look at it and get right down to the brass tax. It's up to you to find the lost heir to the throne and unravel the... Read more
When I first heard about this game in 2006 after it came out for the 360 and PC, I was totally envious of my cousin, who rubbed the fact that he could play it and I could not in my face. I had a 60GB PS3, and when I found out that it was coming to my system, I was giddy with joy. I bought it the day-after it came out and began engrossing myself within the perils of the land of Tamriel, exploring the land, joining the many different guilds and striving to be the best RPG... The Bethesda engine is horrible and the console controls are terrible. Where this game would likely be pretty entertaining with a mouse and a keyboard, without them it is a purely painful experience. I am one of the people who bought the PS3 version of Oblivion. I thought that they would have encorporated the multitide of bugfixes, expansions and submitted content that had been available for more than a year. Did they? No. No plans to update via playstation... Read more

I would just like to say that this game was brilliant. Those who gave it a bad review are not properly reviewing the game they are just saying that they do not like it. The graphics are breath taking. The combat is very good. The movement and cameras are also really good. Not perfect but what game has perfect cameras and movement. The main story I didn't pay much attention to cause there was so much other stuff to do. Become a vampire and cure your self, become the... Read more
