Review Summary

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is meant mainly for kids. It is one of the most joyous, unpretentious, brilliant games available. Though it is not a challenging game you will enjoy it. Best of all it has LEGO Indiana Jones in it. In this game there are many new characters. It’s easy to unlock some of the two games’ best bonus features, including LEGO Town, and the near-Mario levels of hidden stuff tucked away on each stage. It is full of varied secrets, jigsaw wall puzzles, secret vehicle sections, building little piles of LEGO. With a short, sweet level for every decent scene from the six flicks, the Complete Saga is an endless array of secret rooms, bonus bits and unlockable characters. From Imperial corridors satisfyingly stuffed with stormtroopers to neat switch-flipping puzzles on the lovely green-brown Endor. And the best part is it has Wii Remote lightsaber action! The design is brilliant, every corridor corner, every Clone ambush; every tantalizing trail of shiny gems is flawless. However you have to be careful as LEGO Star Wars loves killing you. However you feel safe in the knowledge you’ve got infinite lives. Lego Star Wars is an action adventure with a heavy focus on puzzle-solving and cooperative play. You have to scheme Star Wars heroes through stages modeled after the movies, blast enemies and collect items. The action is fun and the graphics are good on the Wii. But the game is not too different from its two former ones.

The idea of combining the joy of LEGOs with the Star Wars universe was brilliant. So brilliant in fact that the team behind the series has now signed on to two more LEGO titles based on popular franchises as well becoming known as “the LEGO guys”. With the release of The Complete Saga the circle is now complete as gamers are now treated to the definitive collection of both original games as well as some new enhancements such as more polished visuals and of course... When LEGO Star Wars exploded onto the scene in 2005 it followed the story of the prequel trilogy (Episodes I-III) the films of which were just finishing their cinema run at the time. The success of the first game led to LEGO Star Wars: The Original Trilogy in 2006 which covered the original films (Episodes IV-VI) and introduced a few new play mechanics such as the bounty hunter missions and Tauntaun riding. Now in 2007, we are being presented with LEGO Star Wars: The... Read more

When you look at the vast catalog of games based on the Star Wars franchise, it's not surprising to come away with a bit of confusion. You've got the Battlefront series, the KOTOR series, and a veritable slew of PC-exclusive games that all seem to focus on kicking major butt. But then you've got the Lego Star Wars series, which has a mass appeal and somewhat less of a butt-kicking focus. But everyone seems to love it, and it's no real wonder as to why. Put together Lego... Read more

Competing with friends for points is fun, because in the end it's the total of both players so it's cooperative competition. Many times we'll just hack at each other and then seconds later cooperating by having one stand on a block while the other force moves it up to more money. The 1,000,000 point challenges take a long time and you don't get to keep the money, FYI, but they are a fun diversion from the linear story levels. Read more

So, Lego Star Wars on the Wii. Playing the game brings up two senses- great euphoric nostalgia to the point where you just want to claw out those little pieces of plastic all over again and then the slow, gradual sense of frustration as you realise just how annoyingly bad this game is.
