Read more

Okami is a great game. Yes, it’s a port of a game on an older console. Yes, there is no bonus content to enjoy besides the original version. That doesn’t detract from its overall quality. The journey to restore the world’s vitality is long and enjoyable, filled with memorable characters and scenes. Amaterasu’s crusade will lead you far and wide across the planet, allowing you to develop the goddess’s skills and witness the game’s stellar cel-shaded graphics... Read more
I saw some recent ads for this Wii port of Okami, and it had an incredibly true headline: "The best game you've never played". The sad part of thinking that is that the game is one of the most beautiful games to come out in a while. The colors are vibrant and jump off the screen. The game itself is steeped in Japanese folklore and generally looks... Read more
Just like Beyond Good and Evil and countless other quality games that go under the radar, Okami didn't get the love that it deserved. I guess it just goes to prove that a lot of gamers just care about hype and blowing crap up. Read more
Prepare to be dazzled by a wolf. Borrowing unashamedly form the Zelda franchise, Okami drops you into a stunningly rendered, heavily Japanese wood carving–influenced world. As Amaterasu, the sun goddess incarnate as wolf, it‘s up to you to restore the balance of the world that‘s under threat. What this really means is a huge quest peppered with levels and characters and a true flight of fantasy. The backdrop of this peculiar and beautiful 2D–like Japanese design... Read more
